Better Life With Perfect Body

Pilates is a method of movement for the entire body, it will help to strengthen and lengthen muscles though controlled, precise movements. There is a strong focus on the ‘powerhouse’ this consists of the core, hips, glutes, diaphragm, pelvic floor, and spine.

My classes put emphasis on alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core, improving coordination, flexibility, mobility, and balance through mindful, flowing sequences and movements.

Joseph Pilates once quoted: “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference and in 30, you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.”.

“Be in control of your body and not at its mercy”

What we do

Essentials for everyday Pilates

Pilates can allow you to become more aware of how the body feels, finding the mind-body connection, you are more likely to recognise areas of muscle tension and stress, therefore, concentrating on trying to release this, to relax the body. Focusing on conscious lateral thoracic breath and allowing the body to move in a natural flowing way with ease, makes pilates an amazing stress-buster.

The main focus of Pilates movements is to work from our powerhouse- our stable centre, consisting of our deep abdominal muscles, since all extremities will meet at this point, it makes sense to develop a strong centre, you will be able to move and adapt to everyday activities in a more effective, balanced way.

Pilates will build on strengthening and lengthening of both the large and small muscles in a uniformed way.

The idea of pilates according to the founder of the movement Joseph Pilates is to “exercise every muscle of your body” by doing this it will improve your body's circulation, it’ll get the blood pumping around every fibre of your body and in turn will make you feel re-energised.
Working from our ‘powerhouse’ in pilates it’ll allow the muscles to become more balanced and therefore your body will adapt by creating better alignment of the spine, creating the lengthened beautiful posture we all need and not the hunched shoulders to ears look!
By working through movements that you are in complete control over you will focus on quality, concentrating on good technique and range of motion. This precision and control will allow you to improve on mobility that may be reduced but also limiting the range of movement that may be out of ‘normal range of motion’ all of which will maintain good joint health and improve any weakened in joint mobility.
Pilates can be likened to an ‘internal massage for your body’ this is because when practising pilates you are moving in various planes of movement, from movement on the front of our bodies, the back, the sides, articulating up and down, using the lateral thoracic breath pattern with full inhales and exhales, you are helping to remove toxins and waste through the lymphatic system and providing clean, fresh immune cells to help increase your immunity and protect your body from any ‘nasties’
